Doppelpeace!
My name is Anias and I started my journey in Sarkatvelo on the 1st of October. If somebody would have told me in August, that I'm going to to live in Georgia for one year, I would never have believed him. After not everything went as planned with my studies, I decided quite spontaneously to volunteer for one year. I liked the idea of going to Georgia directly when I saw the offer, because my father used to endorse Georgia. After quick research I was convinced! What I saw were amazing landscapes, supposedly wonderful food and wine and friendly and hospitable people. So I didn't need long to decide that the wonderful Georgia will be the place where I will spend the next year in my life.
Now after almost 2 months, I'm really happy with the decision. And everything I saw in the Internet is true! I haven't enjoyed enough of the wonderful Georgian nature, but the trips to Bakuriani, Truso and Mtscheta are enough for me, to recommend this country to everyone that loves nature. I have never been in a country more diverse than Georgia; in the course of one week, I went from wearing shorts and t-shirt in Rustavi to having snowball fights in Bakuriani!
The food and drinks are also as wonderful as promised. I especially love the Georgian supras. There you get more food and wine than you can dream of. My favourite supra was in the home of the grandparents of friends we made - it was truly amazing! Selfmade khachapuri, bbq, salads, fish, khinkalis, wine, schnapps and much more that I forgot. But amazing food and drinks make no good supra. The most important ingredient is the dancing, and we danced a lot!
I'm looking forward to the next places, adventures, people and challenges that I will meet here on my wonderful journey in this great country.
