გამარჯობა მეგობრებო, I am back again and it is hard to say but apparently this will be my last blog for you guys. But I still have something to tell you so lean back and enjoy the last story!
So, last week I had almost a whole free week because a friend of Krista came from Latvia to visit her. Krista wanted to go on a trip with her friend Dasha, so she asked Vibeke, Oubayda and me if we would like to join. Therefore, we drove to Kobuleti to spend three nice days.On the first night when we arrived we just went to the beach. We put our stuff in the apartment, grabbed some beers and walked to the beach. Everyone was so done already it was hilarious, especially Oubayda was almost dead but who can blame him he drove us the whole five hours from Rustavi to Kobuleti. But all in all we had a nice first evening in Kobuleti!
On the second day, our plan was to go to the botanical garden in Batumi. So we went there and it was gorgeous!! I don‘t think that we walked through the whole garden because it was so big..
We enjoyed the plants and flowers there and we did a lot of group pictures [not everyone loves them apparently ;) ] I remember this moment when we passed the zip line to see the view and cliff from the botanical garden, and Oubayda, Vibeke and I almost stood there for half an hour to decide if we wanna do it or not. Spoiler alert we didn‘t do it in the end. It was such a pity, we did ‘‘rock, paper, scissors‘‘ to make a decision and when we asked the guy if we could do it all three of us together he said no.. So in the end we didn‘t do it and all of us went back to the car. As we didn‘t want to go home yet, we decided to search for this hidden beach? What should be a touristic place.. At least that was what Google Maps told us. Long story short, it was maybe a bit too hidden. We hopped from stone to stone through a lot of mud to end up at a fence, then we climbed up the fence and had to walk down really suspicious stairs. But at least we have a nice group picture again! In the evening, we spent the time together, played Uno, drank beer and just chatted around.
Our last day was more chill because everyone was tired as hell. So we went first to a nice beach nearby Batumi and enjoyed the morning. When it was time to go, we went to Batumi and walked through the nice boulevard. And it was so nice because we saw a lot of dolphins that were crazy. I felt like in a movie where the main character can just see cool animals. In addition, we found a small stand where a guy was selling bracelets with writing names on it and I finally got one of these bracelets! After that, we had to go home soon so we drove the whole five hours back or better Oubayda did. And with this day it was the end of our short road trip.
That was my last blog for me now. I hope you liked the story I told and maybe you will also go to Batumi or Kobuleti soon.
But I want to say thank you. Thank you to the Scout Center including Aleks, who accepted me when I applied for this project. Who always had a smile for us and was always there to help us with any problems in the house. Thank you to Davit who brought us to Manglisi and made a really nice barbecue for us. And especially to our coordinator Lia. Lia who where always there for us. Who always answered our question and always tried to make this project as good as possible.
And a didi madloba to all of the volunteers. Thank you Squirrel and Princess that I could spend the first road trip with you guys in all my life. I will never forget which memorable time I had with you together. What nice insiders we made and that we could see most of Georgia all together.
That you, Vibeke, were always there if I needed help with cooking, and Oubayda, who always had to deal with our emotions made us all laugh and told the best stories. Marco and Anni will always be in my heart.
Thank you yellow dwarf, for being who you are and never judge me to be western Europe. Thank you for letting me try vodka with pickles. I am so happy that I have met you even if I thought I wouldn‘t like you. You are a person who is never judging the people and always tries to see the best in them and I am really happy that I could experience this.
Renée our capybara, I loved our gossip times about the bad days. I will always be thankful to have a person which I can mock because she is ‘‘old‘‘. Thank you for letting me feel so safe in the beginning to help find the right words in English. Thank you for understanding my yapping in German and I promise I will speak German to you one day.
Merci beaucoup Lucie, for being our mom in the group, for always listening to the feelings and problems from everyone. You are a great and brave person and I wish I had sometimes your ‘‘ I don‘t care‘‘ attitude . Thank you for having a smile for everyone on every day. And thank you for laughing about jokes from us which are not always the best.
And of course thank you guys for reading my blog. I hope you liked my stories and what I had to say. Maybe my blog inspired you to also do volunteering abroad. I hope I did.
So again
დიდი მადლობა მეგობრებო და კარგად!
