February? I didn’t even notice it passing…
I can always try to summarise it in a few words, or a handful of photos.
First challenge of the month: the opening of scout school. New faces, children running around everywhere, a new project. This is the first time I have found myself in the role of instructor for such a long time with children: every weekend for four months.
It's very informative, I really appreciate having thought about the programme, the teaching methods and putting these ideas into practice with the children (even if, of course, nothing ever goes quite as planned)
Many of my loved ones celebrated their birthdays in France.
I felt a little homesick... until it was my turn to celebrate my birthday, here in Georgia!
Then I realised how lucky I am to be here. All the little gestures from the team and my flatmates warmed my heart. I was showered with gifts and ate kilos of cake. I realised that I can feel at home here as well.
My goal was to travel to Turkey, reach Lake Van, all by myself, hitchhiking, in two days. Can you see the problem coming?
Spoiler alert: I didn't succeed. However, this trip was a great experience, full of encounters, discoveries and learning. I met a French girl coming back from Australia overland. She inspired me a lot!
The hostile but impressive landscapes of the east of the country (rugged mountains, barren land, snow for miles!). Then the splendid scenery of the north coast (pine forests, isolated monasteries, the peaceful Black Sea in the sunshine).
A beautiful trip :)
See you next month !
